Episode One: Rebellious Youth- Zim HipHop artist works with Gemini Maejor

I WANNIT ft Mtho & Uniqua x Tazzy Coming Soon Artwork

South African based ZimHipHop artist Tazzy is set to drop his latest single titled "I WANNIT" which was produced by Gemini Maejor who is under Cassper Nyovest’s label Family tree, on the 12th of October exclusive to Apple music

The track is about wanting to succeed in life and working hard for it, with his lyrics coupled with a twist of how his relationship with his Baby Mama once turned sour. Terry ‘’Tazzy’’ Mlingo humbled himself on this track talking about how much he wants to taste that sweet life everyone wishes for.

"I WANNIT" is featured by two prominent South African artists Mtho and Uniqua who both are signed under Kalawa Jazmee which is also a huge recognized label in Mzansi but mostly produces House music.

In a phone interview, the artist who is now signed under Great Zulu said the track marks his come back in the game and he is looking forward to releasing more singles working towards his coming EP  which is going to prove why he was crowned the Jibilika Best Emcee back in 2012, and when asked how the Single came to be and how he managed to bag a high profile producer, all he said was "some cats just have to stay in the bag don't you think?"

The OMA award winning artist dropped his debut single in 2012 titled "toita sei" which featured Anonzi Xndr and managed to get airplay and featured on chat shows on two major radio stations. He did some features with artists like Missy, Mukwa, Teexy and worked with the Hitlab crew. He did a reasonable amount of work with Rehab where he worked with artists like Marcques, Youngnash to name but a few. After this Mr Tazzy went silent but not before managed to get nominated for an award in South Africa. He went on to say that there are self imposed kings in Hip hop right now but he is not going to mind them at all because he is focusing on his music leaving a mark in the world along side the greats.

Episode One: Rebellious Youth-6 Ways to Help Keep Your New Year’s Resolutions

6 Ways to Help Keep Your New
Year’s Resolutions

You have the best intentions of making change
in the new year, but let’s face it, change is
hard. Most New Year’s resolutions peter out
before the end of January. Here are some tips
from The Rebellious Youth  to give your
resolutions a fighting chance.

1. Be specific: It is much harder to know
what steps are necessary to create change
when the goals are vague. Instead of declaring
to get healthy, set your mind on exercising
four days a week. Instead of setting your goal
to be a more conscientious spender, make a
plan to create a budget and set aside $100 a
month for savings, or for a fun trip. Write
your goals down and the steps it will take to
get there. Having a road map makes the trip
less overwhelming.

2. Make it attainable: When the changes
are unrealistic, we just set ourselves up for
failure. Make baby steps that accumulate
towards bigger change. Don’t focus on losing
35 pounds. Focus on losing the first five, and
be sure to celebrate your success at each
milestone.

3. Track progress: This is how you stay
accountable to yourself. When you see positive
results, it encourages you to keep working
hard. When you see patterns of mishaps, you
have valuable data to help tweak your
approach.

4. Create an audience: Having a cheering
squad is a powerful motivator. For some it’s
the fear of public failure that allows them to
stay focused. For others they desire a public
victory. Having a partner working on a similar
goal is also a fantastic way to stay focused on
the prize while offering and receiving
encouragement along the way.

5. Anticipate mistakes: Many a resolution
has been thwarted by feelings of defeat over a
slip up. Note to self: “You are not going to do
this perfectly, and there will be setbacks.”
When we make space for imperfection, we are
much more likely to continue working hard at
the tasks at hand until we reach our goals. If
your plan is to eat five small nutritious meals a
day, and on the 5 th day you broke down and
ate a brownie, well you still ate 24 out of 25
meals healthfully, which is great progress.

6. Surf the urge: This is a mindfulness
technique created by Alan Marlatt that will
help you work through times of intense
craving. The task at hand is to recognize the
urge fully and then, without judgment, let it
be, without feeding or fighting it. When you
ride the urge, it becomes external to you and
easier to navigate. In a matter of minutes
(usually less than 30) you feel the intensity
dissipate, until it is over completely.

Episode One: Rebellious Youth- Mtho_m-SkhabaAmabhodlela- new release

You know that moment when good music hits your ears, you just cant help but put a silly smile on your face your head tryna stay still but the song is soo good you cant help it, before your know it you legs start stomping to the beat and your brain trying to register the lyrics, YES that feeling.

Last week i received  an email from a guy named "Mtho m" telling me his working on a song about booze and getting soaked, well my first thought was "aint that an old concept ?",  "aint it like what the majority of the hiphop circle rapping about"? Well i entertained the idea only because my gutt told me so and boy was that gutt right. Fast forward a week later Mtho_m sent me the song before he released it  hoping i wont get the edge to leak it.

I plugged in my head phones and that feeling hit me, the feeling of good music, the feeling of durban music, the feeling managed to take me back to the first day i learnt to ride a bike. I found myself emailing Mtho_m trying to get more details on the song and to my luck he gave me the rights to make it my december theme song and after hours and hundreds of emails, i managed to convince him to release the song on this page, and ladies and gentleman i give "SkhabaAmabhodlela". Its safe to say this is a club anthem and durban has a tendency of bringing out talent like that. With Gemini major on the beat Mtho_m, Insane and Swif on the vocals not forgetting Allan Duvera on the song cover art, all i can say is i ended up downing on bottles i never knew i had. I exclusively have the song and sharing with you guys is the best festive present i can give you. So Rebels i give you the link to the hottest song in Durban right now https://soundcloud.com/mtho-m/mtho-m-skhaba-amabhodlelaradio-cut

Lets all support durban music if not the Durban Sun

Well look my time is running out so for now #Bless and stay Rebellious

Episode One: Rebellious Youth- Moment of awakening- Support

I miss that time and i miss those days, you know the days when people had a care free attitude when it came to fame and popularity, the days when a simple cents meant we can afford not millions, the time when families where one and believed in one another, a time when you could get support for anything you set your mind into, it might be the most far fetched thing on earth but the moment you set your heart and mind to it you would see the whole family if not the community support you and your dreams. Despite it being nearly impossible one would find themselves being in the core of a support base wider than they had imagined.

When i started this job i really thought everyday im gone talk about parties, clubs, events and functions but to be honest as much as i hate to admit it, i never find inspiration to touch on that subject, not because i lack the creative writing skill (well i leave you to be the judge of that), i travel, i am invited to events, functions and parties but to touch on a subject where nobody supports you kind of bounce's back in your face, you start asking yourself "did anyone read, was it good enough, should i continue writing, why am i bothering". But at the end of the day the bigger voice comforts, and reminds how writing is your love, words are your crush and the pen is well your soulmate. Then it hits me music reviews, upcoming events and parties are going to be a norm on this page but once again i wouldn mind having a little support.

It looks like im running out of time but i promise to be back sooner than you may know it but for now, Happy Holidays from me and the team

Much love #Bless

Episode One: Rebellious Youth- Thou shalt not tempt the Lord

I have learnt that in life one needs to know thier limits when it comes to showing off and trust me walking on water is not easy. Not too many
people have the ability. Let’s see, there’s
Jesus, and well, that’s about it. Unfortunately
for one pastor on the West Coast of Africa, his
attempt to become the second man to make
this impossible feat a reality cost him his life.
Pastor Franck Kabele, 35, told his congregation
that he was capable of reenacting the very
miracles of Jesus Christ. He decided to make it
clear through way of demonstration on
Gabon’s beach in the capital city of Libreville.
Referencing Matthew 14:22-33, Kabele said
that he received a revelation which told him
that with enough faith he could achieve what
Jesus was able to. Ok first of all why would you want to use God's name in vein.
According to an eyewitness, Kabele took his
congregation out to the beach. He told them
that he would cross the Kombo estuary by
foot, which is normally a 20 minute boat ride.
Sadly by the second step into the water Kabele
found himself completely submerged. He
never returned.
This is not the first incident of this nature in
Africa. At Ibadon zoo in south-west Nigeria, a
self-proclaimed Prophet claimed to be able to
do what the Daniel of the bible did by walking
into a den full of lions.
Though he was warned numerous times by zoo
keepers, according to NG Newspapers, the
Prophet thought of them as nothing more than
enemies of progress. The Prophet, with a
crowd of people watching, put on a long red
robe and proceeded to enter the cage full of
lions.
Within seconds of opening the door, the lions
ripped the Prophet from flesh to bone.

Ok so whats alarming is how is it possible that when someone is drowning some people are just standing there waiting to be called up as eye witnesses, and why would one get in a lions dan with a red robe? Firstly i believe in the bible all those prophets and massanger's of christ wore white and if im wrong please correct me, secondly why red? I mean even a bull would charge on you if you wearing red let alone a lion. Well all in all i now belive the
bible should come with a warning label, “Don’t
try this at home.

Till next time please try miracles that wont harm you in the process...#Yzya #Bless

Episode One: Rebellious Youth-The Owl Flies

"One night can change how you see the world.
One night can change how you see yourself."

now the question is, "do you intend to allow obstacles to change the way you see yourself in a negative way"??

As the owl was settled up for an early night adventure to explore the amazing durban nights, we thought it would be only fair if we 1st landed at Taco Zulu for thier amazing Sushi, and then again you cant drink on an empty stomach. That half price everyday sushi got us filled to the rim, and before we know it, we where headed to Origin and to be honest the party was alife but sadly due to the fact that i left my ID home, i wasnt granted a pass (dont get me wrong, i like the rules but not when they are applied to me). My head down shy on my walk of shame, i walked to the car wondering where i will end up that night but like fate i saw myself headed to Club Absolute in florida road. As i walked into Absolute with no familiar face in site, i concluded my night as the worst but little did i know the Rebellious gods had a plan of thier own. My day one called his other connects and before you know it our table was filled with the most beautiful girls durban can offer. Like every Absolute Saturday we where given a dose of Techno-house beats as the white crowd bust in a frenzy of pump it dance moves. As the booze started to kick in and the night became wilder thats when i embraced the multi cultural country we live in, as white black yello green and blue where all on the dance floor. But like every night the fun has to end at some point.

And it would be a crime if i leave you with no review of the night

Taco Zulu i give them 7/10 for thier setting but i feel like we where a little crowded, but for the Sushi i give them a close 9/10 #JobWellDone i will go back anytime at Taco Zulu

Club Absolute (Florida)  i give them 8/10 for setting and it actually helps more that the club is next to a tatoo parlor (who wouldnt want a drunken tatoo right?). For the alcohol prices well i give them 8/10 its affordable and at the same time you feel like you spent

Thats all from me for now hoping to catch you on the next rebellious outing

From me and the team

Episode One: Rebellious Youth-Know an Owl

“We learn something from everyone who passes through our lives.. Some lessons are painful, some are painless.. but, all are priceless''

For a minute iv been trying to figure out who i wanna be, where i wanna be and what i really wanna be, and regardless of the many times i failed, i always got the courage to stand up and try again.
Most of you are now wondering who might this fool be now? Be careful you might not want to know the answer. But for curiosity sake, i'm the owl that watch's over the Durban nights, the same owl that gives you the necessary feedback of whats hip and happening in our magnificent city. But for now the greatest update this owl can give is that this feed is now under new management, and we greatly appreciate the previous updater, she handed me this amazing piece and all i can say is she left me big shoes to fill (I never said she has big feet). She forever did a great job and she will still be part of this entourage.

As for now the biggest question is ''What is Street Lights and Late Nights ''?? Well its simple though complicated in some parts. We are all about the greatest events Durban has to offer, Updates, behind the scenes and if we lucky enough we might get an interview or two. A constant update of what happens during street lights, late nights and leads to 4am cabs with a movement that is driven by the rebellious youth. You probably wondering why i'm using  ''WE'' instead of ''I'', its pretty much because you are going to be part of this historical movement.

As much as I would love to continue writing, like everything in the world, limits apply,  I will be back soon with real news. But for now I have to go. Just keep that smile at night! Who knows maybe you will be our nightlife poser for the week. From me its bye and have a great rebellious time ,

Till next time ''Bless''
